Corine's money

As you can see I've made good on my promise, and given the lucky winner an oversized check for $25.

Here are a few words from the winner herself.

"on behalf on the corine st.ofle uc berkeley fund, i am truly honored to accept this very very very modest contribution. let's hope next time om will score a couple more goals. all of those who voted for me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. the others, i don't know what to tell you."

Corine really wrote that.

Marseille 1 -- Liverpool 0

The game is over, and Olympique de Marseille won (1-0) story here.

The votes have been counted, and the Corine St.Ofle UC Berkeley Fund won by an overwhelming margin.

So in the coming days, I'll be presenting a check for $25 Corine.

Corine must have paid you to vote for her.
har har har.

Pledge

I decided ahead of the all important Olympique de Marseille game against Liverpool tomorrow, that (should Marseille tie or win) I'd donate $25 for every goal scored to whichever categoty gets the most votes.

Mogwai Pacemaker Auction

This isn't about me, but it's worth it.

Mogwai drummer Martin Bulloch has put up for auction his pacemaker to benefit the British Heart Foundation to help fund their ongoing work in fighting and preventing heart disease in the UK.

Along with this quite unique item, Martin's throwing in a couple of Access All Areas passes to the winner for a Mogwai show nearest to their home as well as other Mogwai stuff.
